Public pressure does affect policy decisions.  Let your views be known.

Tell the entomologist that extended fogging hours are unacceptable:  Children are still outside at 9:30 pm!
insectcontrol@winnipeg.ca, 986-3210

PMRA is the federal agency that registers these poisons.
You can e-mail your exposure symptoms to them at:  PMRA_INFOSERV@hc-sc.gc.ca

Let the Province know that West Nile virus fogging is ludicrous!  Exposure to toxic malathion leaves us all immuno-compromised.  Find your mla's contact information and tell them we deserve better.
Contact the province's Chief Medical Officer of Health:  joel.kettner@gov.mb.ca, (204) 788-6666
The Minister of Health, Honourable Teresa Oswald:  teresa.oswald@leg.gov.mb.ca, (204) 945-3731

Then call City Hall:  986-2171.  Tell them:
 STOP POISONING us withpdfneurotoxic,pdfimmunotoxic,pdfgenotoxic
poisons like malathion and dursban which breakdown and become more toxic
AND MAY PERMANENTLY ALTER THE DEVELOPING BRAIN OF A HUMAN FOETUS.
And adopt a real pesticide  by-law because neighbours shouldn't poison us either.
Read Nick Ternette's (May 14, '08) presentation to City Hall,
pointing out the obvious failings of what they're pretending is called a cosmetic pesticide by-law.
Meanwhile, read how Landscape Manitoba honours Sam Katz for being so industry-friendly.

Every year we have to
 BUFFER UP!
Send your buffer application to Insect Control Branch, or on the bugline website you can register, read fogging updates and public notices.  Buffer registration forms are also at libraries, in the Leisure Guide and in the telephone book.

There's always hope that next year they will smarten up, but if not
CBC tells you how to protect yourself in the fog.
