     Welcome to our new format newsletter.  It came to our attention that people missed the newsletters and so we have introduced this format on our website that will reduce the size of e-mails and eliminate the need for attachments or html messages, yet still allow you to access the links provided.  We hope you will find these changes helpful.
      And, we hope you will bring your favourite detox strategies and join us for Detox Day and Dragonfly Cafe on December 10th.  If you want to help with the organizing or postering for this event, join us at the next  CROW meeting on November 16.  See you there!

USDA Seeks Public Comment on Genetically Engineered Grass
(Beyond Pesticides, October 28, 2005) In an October 12, 2005 Federal Register notice, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service announced that it is seeking information to develop
an environmental impact statement as part of its consideration of a petition received from Monsanto and the Scotts Company to deregulate genetically engineered (GE) “RoundUp Ready” creeping bentgrass (Agrostis stolonifera). USDA will be taking public comments until November 14, 2005.
