Spray Big or Go Home?????????  Where do they find these guys?  from Monday June 26 in the Winnipeg Sun.  On Saturday, June 24, The Winnipeg Sun published this argument from the (same) other entomologist disputing the migrating insect theory, Insect expert disputes Taz, and a letter to the editor from Dave Nickarz, Fogging doesn't work, in response to this assinine opinion piece by Ian Shanley, published Friday the 23rd, Please stop the mosquito madness.  Here's CROW's response, yet to be published, Dumb and Dumber.

CTV has been covering the story of Robin Fay's flight from town on Friday, June 23 before fogging starts.

CBC interviewed Councillor Donald Benham on Friday, June 23.  Here's an excerpt, "'We've used malathion for a long time. It hasn't worked, didn't get rid of the mosquitoes.' We're the only city, the only municipality, that uses malathion. Why is that? Are all the rest wrong? None of them have mosquitoes? Of course they have mosquitoes. They've learned other ways to deal with them."  CBC also have a web page called Malathion vs Mosquitoes.

The Winnipeg Free Press printed this opinion piece on Sunday, June 10, 2006, PESTICIDES ARE BAD:  JUST ASK ANY GATOR, Alligator tears.  Read the original piece, and CROW's response, which was submitted June 11 and published June 20.  The day before the city's June 21 fogging announcement.  Read the version sent to City Councillors here. (This one discloses that the decision is based on city-wide average of 3 nights of counts including 26, 196, and 88.  So much for the new green policy.)   Then buffer up.  Then call your politicians.  To quote MP Pat Martin, Winnipeg's handling of the fogging issue is "retarded."
